AHS to host parental conference									
 Parents are invited to attend a parental conference hosted by the
AHS.Americas High School will host the 12th Annual Regional Parental Engagement
Conference on Saturday, November 7th from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Participants will
attend a morning session which will include a keynote address by renowned
speaker and author of When My Dad Came Home (Cuando Regrese Mi Papa), Lupina
Vela. The morning and afternoon sessions will cover a variety of topics,
including parenting skills, parent involvement, family/school partnerships,
math, reading, TAKS, TEKS, special education, discipline, gang awareness,
health, nutrition and many other topics. There will be sessions in both English
and Spanish. For more information, contact your school parental involvement
