The Bay Area Video Coalition, or

was founded in 1976 by a coalition of media makers and
activists who wanted to
find alternative, civic-minded applications for
a new technology - PortaPak
video. Our continuing mission is to inspire social change by enabling the

It's
been 3 days since I returned from premiering my documentary at the Slamdance
Film Festival  and I've been getting a lot of questions about it. People are
curious, and I'll be darned if BAVC's #1 vlogger isn't going to give the people
what they want. For you, dear readership, anything...
How was the
weather?
Before last week, I'd never really been in snowy conditions. I grew up
in the East Bay ("Beast" in Pig Latin), the land where weather doesn't really
exist. The closest I'd come to snow was some dirty slush in Chicago about five
years ago, resulting in me rolling in the gutter trying to make snow angels.
Park City, Utah was-- shall we say-- unprecedented. It was SNOWY. I mean
icicles, shovels, ridiculous outerwear, the whole deal. I prided myself on not
actually falling down until the last day when I completely fell down while
standing in a driveway talking on the phone. See ya later, dignity.
